The Top Ten Things to Look for in a Health Care Market Research Company

  1. Understanding of the industry. Some people say that health care is no different than any other industry such as automotive, package goods, and retail. However, we believe that a solid knowledge of the issues, controversies, and difficulties that exist in health care is a critical requirement for conducting excellent market research.

  2. Ability to collect data from hard-to-reach respondents. Most research companies say that they can interview anyone. Not true. We have a proven record of interviewing tens of thousands of physicians, nurses, health benefit decision makers, and other difficult-to-reach health care professionals.

  3. Strong record in health care. Some research companies dabble in health care. We have conducted nearly 3,000 studies in the health care field. These have included studies for health plans, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and non-profits. Few of our competitors can match this rich history.

  4. Only does research that will help my business. Some research companies will accept any assignment. Not us. Unless the research fits our expertise, is tied to a clear objective, and provides value to you, we would rather not do it.

  5. Gets the work done quickly. Many research companies provide time lines that they don't keep. Our belief is that our clients need results as quickly as possible. We consider every project a rush project and do our best to meet your schedule.

  6. Doesn't over complicate the research. Most research questions have simple answers. Many researchers make their projects much more complicated and difficult than they need to be. We believe in doing projects right, but keeping them simple so that the results are not confusing and misleading.

  7. Provides easy-to-understand reports with meaningful conclusions and recommendations that are tied to my business strategy. Too many research companies provide weak boiler plate reports. We believe that the report is the most important component of our product. Our goal is to provide insights and recommendations that are additive to your thinking.

  8. Stays in touch. Too often, research companies keep their clients in the dark about the progress of the project. Our goal is to make sure our clients always know what is going on with their projects and we do whatever is necessary to meet our obligations.

  9. Gives me easy access to all of the key people. Some research companies restrict your access to everyone but the Account Executive. We believe that you should be able to talk to any member of the team assigned to your project. This includes our senior management as well as the day-to-day supervisors. We want to be sure that you receive our full attention.

  10. Follow-ups after the project is completed. Some research companies lose interest once the report is presented and the last invoice is sent. Once Cooper completes your project, we will follow up to see what decisions have been made and how the research was used. We also find out if there is anything more we can do to add value to the project.
